So many of our customers have to come to us because they’ve made what would have been a simple-to-fix solution into a larger problem.
Be careful when doing your first DIY job!
When it comes to carpet cleaning, there is often a misconception that professional carpet cleaning is expensive and inconvenient, so it forces many people resort to their own DIY solutions. The problem with a lot of these ‘quick-fixes’ is that a lot of the time your carpet can be left in a worse state than what it was originally in.
Usually when you’ve stained your carpet by spilling wine or having a pet leave some urine behind, not attending to the stain straight away doesn’t mean you’ll never be able to get it out. By taking in five deep breaths and booking a clean with your local professional carpet steam cleaning company, you can almost guarantee that they’ll have your carpets looking almost new again.
Instead though, a lot of people are quick to react, and they’ll often resort to Googling a quick solution. Regardless of what the solution is, the customer normally forgets to spot test their DIY solution on an inconspicuous part of the carpet. They’ll usually attack the stain and either spread it, deepen it into the fibres of the carpet or cause a reaction between their DIY solution and the carpet.
What happens next?
Regardless of which way it pans out, the majority of the time it will result in a call to their local carpet steam cleaning professionals – and this is where we come into the picture.
By worsening the stain it can often result in a slightly more expensive treatment as extra attention and cleaning products are required. If you want to minimise your costs and increase the chances of removing the stain entirely, we recommend calling your local carpet cleaning professionals as soon as you can.
At Wizard Carpet, Tile and Grout Cleaning, we specialise in the removal of almost any stain! We can also assist if your carpets have felt the unexpected reaction between the fibres and a DIY cleaner.
And just remember …
It’s always best to make a decision with a cool mind – this also means not trying to remove a carpet stain as quickly and forcefully as possible as most of the time it will just make things worse!
