Everyone around the world is fast realising the impacts of not maintaining a high level of hygiene inside and outside of the home. Even though you may not be able to control what happens outside of the home, there is a lot you can do inside your home to help slow or prevent the spread of viruses and diseases such as the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).

When we think about maintaining a high standard of hygiene outside of the home, this could involve regularly washing your hands, avoiding contact with sick people, coughing and sneezing into your elbow and even regularly using alcohol hand sanitiser.  But what about inside your home? What can YOU be doing and what can WE be doing to help maintain a clean-living area?

Hygiene at home 101 – what YOU can do

If you really want to take your hygiene seriously, there are many things you can be doing on your own to ensure this.  Some of these practices don’t require much time and others are as simple as remembering to take your shoes off.

To make this easier for you, we’ve compiled a list of tasks for you to do daily in order to help spread viruses and bacteria throughout your home:

  • Wiping door handles daily
  • Wiping over tv remotes and gaming controls
  • Cleaning down surfaces such as light switches, benches, cupboards and tables
  • Removing shoes before entering the house
  • Reminding the entire family to avoid touching their faces, mouth and nose
  • Washing your hands regularly throughout the day for at least 20 seconds
  • Disposing of used tissues immediately
  • Changing your clothes if you’re coming home from work, a day out or catching public transport
  • Limiting visitors that are currently sick

Now then, as you can see, you’ve you’re probably already been doing most of the above tasks but it’s just important to ensure that you’re doing them regularly (especially given these current times where viruses such as the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) are being transmitted globally without a cure).

So what else can be done? At Wizard Tile and Grout Cleaning W.A., we can assist with the ‘heavy lifting’ in terms of cleaning tasks which would be difficult to do properly without the right machinery and expertise.
